I must admit I’m a bit of a fair weather cyclist and it’s been gorgeous here this week so I’ve managed to get out on my beloved bike. I’m not the fastest or fittest but I love it. The hills are a little bit of a challenge but there are some lovely quiet flat roads through sunflower fields that are a joy. We have complimentary bikes at CL and if you ever visit I would totally recommend a bike ride, find your ten year old self and follow one of the routes we’ve mapped out. Weeeeeeeeee..!!! I know lots of our friends think we live the life of Riley here in Tuscany but we both find it difficult to have a complete day to ourselves.. So we try to make sure we have Sundays off says she writing the Casa Leana blog! Today we went for a lovely walk around one of our local villages. See in the photo there's snow on the hills so it was a bit chilly! Apparently spring will be back later this week with temperatures reaching 21 degrees! It's always the same here at this time of year, we keep thinking we've seen the last of the cold weather and then the temperature dips by 15 degrees. Bonkers. We'll be sitting on the hammocks next week with a beer in the sunshine hopefully! For the time being though, Sunday afternoon roast and a glass of Chianti in front of the fire, cheers... This week “we” began yet another project in the garden building a small stairway leading down to the olive grove. It began with a bit of head scratching (that’s a polite way of putting it!). While Leigh’s back was turned in attempt to help I dug a large hole where I wasn't supposed to (urgh) but we got there in the end (well Leigh did, I was banished to the veggie patch to deal with Steve the scarecrow’s head, long story, possibly another blog post?!). I hope you will all agree the new steps are a nice little addition to the garden giving our guests direct access from the top patio seating area to the olive grove. The grass seed should hide the hole before the guests arrive this year.. D I A N A xxx
Here goes my first attempt at blogging... Is this boring? Today I pruned the olive trees and shredded the branches. The end. Oh and after all this time I still have to double check the Internet as to when I’m supposed to feed all our shrubs and trees. Only just found out last year from a friend that she feeds her olive trees - I always wondered why she had so much fruit! So today I am on a feeding frenzy - I've sprinkled feed over literally every plant and tree in the garden. Now I'm just going to sit back and wait for a magnificent display of giant trees and flowers! (I’ll put some pictures on if it all works). Lots of projects going on in the background, watch this space! D I A N A xxx

Welcome to my blog...Just a little insight into our lives here. After eleven years of living in Tuscany I thought it was about time to have a go at blogging when one of my lovely friends said she had received (what she thought!) was an extremely funny text from me, hmmm.. How difficult can it be?!
